UN prophecies
by Fleshybirdfodder inwith all the fanfare of the "divine deliverance at hand" convention, are the dubs still pushing the idea of the un banning all religion globally?
we've seen how powerless the un was with iraq and now with the situation in lebanon.
do they really still believe that the un will actually do this, or even have the power to suggest it for that matter?

They get to validate their "truth", their decisions and their life if you agree with them. They get to become heroes, and save you from yourself due to the effort and intelligence they have, and the sooner the better, because the world will end 'soon'.
They're mad, but this distraction gives them purpose - to the point that they close their ears and go 'la, la, la, la, la' if you remind them of a truth of reality - two thousand years ago people would have described it as 'possessed by an evil spirit'. They want to play and be the hero of the game - if you try and stop them playing they'll chuck a tantrum and shun you.

I suppose I should add - nowhere does the NT spell out "thou shalt not stop your children from acquiring a well rounded education"
People know things by nature - but somewhere along the line others are tempted into following rules so as to earn a prize, and they forget concepts of kindness to their neighbour - suppressing the natural and, with others, commit shameless acts that typically are not spelled out.

Is becoming a witness the right thing for me
by marketman ini've been struggling for quite some time now about continuing my exploration of the jehovah witness faith.
i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.
i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.

Marketman - that's an apt name - as in the wtbts "love" is something people buy and sell - you can get an advance, but still, it's traded

Although the NT condemns and prohibits many things, nowhere does it condemn or prohibit the buying, owning and selling of slaves. What a shame.
"nor covet anything else that is your neighbours"
If you would enter life, keep the commandments................And Jesus said, "......., You shall not steal,....."

JW's going door to door in poor neighborhoods
by Wordly Andre ini'm not sure if its just me, but i've noticed that every time i drive through the "ghetto part of my city" ok maybe ghetto is a poor choice of words but poor neighborhood, i always see jw's out in the streets.
i live in the same city only in the better part and i hardly ever see jw's on my street?
not that i am complaining about it but, i was thinking do they target lower income families, or in their eyes uneducated people for their ministry?
